My Grandfather and My Brand New Car.

Cars are a very special issue in our family. My grandpa, my mom's father, was an afficcionate at his time. He loved cars. He was born in 1889, at the arise of that crazy invention that moved over 4 wheels rolling, taking the driver everywhere. Now, as an adult and father of 3, he was about to fulfill the dream. He bought the gizmo, invited a boy cousin and two more mates to embark on this adventure. He sat at the driver's seat, the invited men equally took their seats, he ignited the rocket, put into gear and off he went as fast as he could! No sooner was he and the 3 other passengers down the slope aside the road, all 4 scattered to the ground, dizzy from the speed which he incremented and subsequently lost control and went with the machine four times overturning. This unfortunate accident my grandpa had caused, was due to the high speed he reached, about hum, let's say 30 m per hour? For a strike of luck and Mighty God, nobody got hurt. Let me say, that was his first time driving, without ever having he, had an instruction for driving! This was common rule at the time.
But the ocurrence never derive him from his addiction to cars. And speed!
Everytime he showed commanding his rocket piece, we used to say, "there comes grandp........GOOOOOOOONE!", pointing out with our little fingers the direction he went. He used to choose the car by the reach of speed, not only comfort.
This addiction runs in the family, not that irresponsible. Where and when my grandpa used to drive, the number of vehicles was so little few and the streets most of the time empty.
It is a habit to show to the family, everytime we buy a car, whether a new one or not. One calls up, drops in and shows off. It's generally a joyful reunion, unexpected but full of "ohs" and "ahs", "beautifuls" and so on.
Up to my mom's days, she and my uncles went on this singular habit. And very recently, I went to buy a car, not even thinking about speed or so, and guess who had I summoned to join the supreme moment??? My cousin, of course, the daughter of my mom's brother, who else could it be?
